How this calculator works
Brewers use several gravity scales for the same underlying measurement: density, points, Plato and Brix.
The converter normalizes the entered value and then displays the equivalent value on the other supported scales.
Plato and Brix are close for normal wort readings, but they are not identical at every gravity.
Worth knowing
- Brix is a refractometer scale; fermenting beer still needs alcohol correction before it can be read as final gravity.
- Round trips between scales may not land on the exact original display value because each scale has its own rounding behavior.
